My name is Christen and I am a mother of four young daughters and a former journalist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. I also worked as a television reporter for CTV News.

Right now I am on maternity leave from my job as an elementary school French teacher.

I’ve always been a proud math nerd and during my career as a news journalist, I reported on many financial topics that affect families. I’ve researched and interviewed financial experts about investing, financial planning, stocks, bonds, index funds…and a boat-load of other money matters.

The purpose of this website is to share all that knowledge with you in order to give you the information and tools you need to make great financial decisions for yourself, and your family.

Importantly, I’ve followed the advice and implemented the financial tools I choose to write about myself. I don’t write about anything I haven’t done with my own money.
